Formed in 1998, the Gold Canyon Arts Council presents a fine arts concert series, designed to affordably meet the needs of the Gold Canyon area. Programs vary from traditional classical chamber music to ethnic and folk performances with indigenous instruments. Depending on the particular season blues, jazz, and theater may also be featured. Performances are held at the United Methodist Church of Gold Canyon through a cooperative agreement. The excellent acoustics of this facility make it an ideal venue for music and theater appreciation.
The 2008-2009 season gets underway on November 14th with Eric Bibb "Singing the Blues".
The 2007-2008 season got underway on November 9th 2007 with a visit to the Gold Canyon Arizona area by the Side Street Strutters, who play Dixieland jazz. In March on March 7th a Latin Jazz group, Novo Mundo, makes an appearance. The 2008 season ends in March on March 28th with a performance by the Arizona Opera.
Tickets are reasonably priced.
