While the headquarters of East Valley Wildlife is not located in Gold Canyon. They are a non-profit organization that has helped a number of Gold Canyon animals. It also seeks volunteers from Gold Canyon, as well as other parts of the East Phoenix Valley.
In-home wildlife volunteers care for songbirds, quail, water-birds, waterfowl and small mammals such as bunnies and squirrels.
They do not have a central facility nor do they handle raptors (hawks, owls, etc) or larger mammals. They have been caring for orphaned and injured wildlife since 1989. Their main goals are to release as many of the ill, and wounded critters back into the wild as soon as they are well enough so they can lead productive natural lives.
The organization, which is a 501(c) 3 organization, non-profit also, educates the public on the value of protecting our natural resources.
